Update Friday August 13, 2010: SocialDevCamp Chicago is sold out and at capacity.  We're grateful for all of the interest in the event and apologize for the inconvenience to anyone looking to register at the last minute.


SocialDevCamp Chicago is a summer camp for developers, evangelists, and enthusiasts of the social web. Attendees are provided with two days of sessions on social applications, platforms, APIs, mobile applications, identity management, and new media.  With the addition of an unconference and hackathon - you cannot afford to miss SocialDevCamp Chicago.  


Speakers include

Chris Messina is an open web advocate currently working for Google.  He is played an influential role in a number of communities including BarCamp, coworking, OpenID, OAuth, and Activity Streams.  

Andrew Mason the founder and CEO of Groupon and The Point.  Aside from the working with the web, Andrew has started businesses to deliver bagels as if they were newspapers.  

Ben Huh is dedicated to making the Internet laugh for 5-minutes per day.   As CEO of Cheezburger Network, Ben is responsible for hugely popular humor sites like I Can Has Cheezburger and FAIL Blog.

Developer Hackathon

The SocialDevCamp Chicago hackathon is a 36-hour challenge to develop and present a social app  for a share of $3,000 in prizes.  Developers should caffeinate and prepare to dominate with laptops, phones, gadgets and dev tools.  More information on the hackathon.   


Unconference

Our roots are grounded in the style of unconference - a series of unstructured and semi-structured sessions that turn the traditional conference on its head.  Come ready to participate with ideas and topics or submit thoughts ahead of time to help shape the program.
